- Directions. From Downtown Honolulu, take the Pali Highway (Hwy 61) towards Kailua. Stay on 61 (which becomes Kailua Road) through downtown Kailua to the “T” intersection at Kalaheo Avenue. Turn right onto Kalaheo and continue until Kalaheo becomes Kawailoa Road. Cross over a bridge and turn left (opposite Buzz’s Steakhouse) immediately into the Kailua Beach Park parking lot. Here’s a map link. From Central Oahu, take H-3 and exit at Kaneohe Bay Drive. Turn left and continue past Aikahi Shopping Center onto Kalaheo. Continue until Kalaheo becomes Kawailoa Road. Cross over a bridge and turn left (opposite Buzz’s Steakhouse) immediately into the Kailua Beach Park parking lot.
- The Workout. We will walk over to the start finish area, limber up there, and back track into and around Lanikai on the 5K course. After Lanikai, the faster athletes will head down Kalaheo Avenue towards Kaneohe on the first part of the Uloha Half-marathon course.
- Post-workout Potluch Brunch. Please bring a dish to share for about 6 people. Be willing to take your left-overs home.

BCET Survey. Here is a link to the short survey I’ve told you will help us plan our approach to BC Endurance Trainings during 2025 and beyond. It only takes a few minutes to complete, and your answers will be strictly anonymous and confidential. Thanks for your time. BC
The Sensible Eating Course. A steering committee met at Zippy’s on Saturday to plan for the first three class sessions. If you are interested in doing the course, here are a few things to know:
-
-
-
-
- The curriculum is posted on our BC Endurance website under Courses>Sensible Eating. You should read about the three habit areas because you’ll be asked to choose one of the three to focus on during the first class meeting.
- The first class will take place after the potluck at Kailua Beach Park this Saturday. Please bring a beach chair and warm clothes incase it’s blustery.
- Our steering committee (Lara, Arby, Jessie, Felicia, and Brian) okayed the following ideas in the 1-page course plan at this link. It will fill out your understanding of the course. Please read it before coming to the first class.

The New Workout Diary (digital version). The new electronic diary form on our Mile-to-Marathon page is ready for use. I will continue bringing the hard copy version to Saturday workouts. But in order to record your Monday and Wednesday workout experience for my perusal, you will have to fill out the digital version on our members only marathon page.
-
-
-
-
- Who should fill out the diary? 1) If you plan to participate in the course on the Hard-Easy System, starting in October. 2) if you need me to follow up with you on an injury (note the fastest way to get my attention is to send me a text or email). 3) If you want a digital record of your workouts for the rest of the training. Otherwise, only the Saturday diary is a “have-to” so I can check in on your workout experience, especially on the long runs to come.
- What’s “new” about this version? I tried to make this electronic version as close as possible to the hard copy one you’ve filled out since the beginnning of this training. I’ve added a section for Colds and I’ve expanded the Injuries section. Earlier versions had sections for tracking your sleep habits and meditation practices, which I can bring back if requested.
